  • Where do I begin?
    I suggest you email me or book a free 20 min zoom or phone meeting if you have any questions. The Why Weight? Program is currently available as a One-on-One Program, working directly with Allison or as a Self-Study Course- Part One and Two are available to purchase now.
  • Who is most suited to the Why Weight? program?
    The Why Weight? Program is for anyone who has tried all different diets and weight loss programs but has found themselves gaining the weight back. They know they need to make changes but can't seem to stop their patterns of thoughts and behaviors about food and eating. They are "stuck" in a rut and need help to create a new lifestyle to support weight loss and health. The ideal client is someone who is functioning well in most areas of their lives but just can't seem to get their eating under control, they are frustrated and feel lost and alone with yo-yo diets, negative self-talk and poor self-care.
  • What are the three options available?
    The One-on-One Program is available as individual sessions where Allison teaches you the Why Weight? concepts. This can be as many or as few as you wish. Option 2 is the VIP program, this gives you the two why weight? courses (videos and worksheets) plus some Individual coaching with Allison, it could be 4 or 8 sessions (or more). The final option is to purchase the course and complete it independently and at your own pace. Both Courses (part 1 and part 2) are available now. If you are really unsure, reach out, we can discuss what is right for you. If you live in Ontario and choose to do individual coaching you may be able to claim it under your extended health benefits, please reach out so we can discuss how payments work for insurance reimbursement.
  • What is included in the Individual and Self-Study Why Weight? Programs?
    The Why Weight Complete program is program where you work directly with Allison, she will be your personal coach to help you reach your goals. Alternatively you can do the course as a self-study program at your own pace. Both Part One and Part Two of the Course are available for purchase NOW. Each includes mini video module lessons- to make sure that you have the right tools that you need for successful weight loss. Part One is available as a complete course at time of purchase. Part Two is a "drip course" with modules released every 7 days for a total of 6 weeks. This program includes worksheets and video modules You can also opt for a VIP version of the self-study program that includes individual coaching sessions to help you personally as you work through the material, the price of this program depends on how frequently you need individual sessions.
  • What are some of the topics covered in the Why Weight? Program
    The Why Weight? program (both the One-on-One Program and the Course) are focused on thoughts and patterns, habit development, challenging negative core beliefs- the psychological stuff.   • How do I pay for the course/s?

  • If I sign up for the One-on-One Program how often will we meet?
    I normally suggest weekly, that keeps you on track since it keeps your efforts for change "top of mind". Some people will start with weekly and after a few sessions they will switch to every other week since they feel they have a good start. Others can only meet every other week, just meet as often as you can. The first session is always booked as 50 mins but all other sessions can be as short at 30 mins.
  • What if I can't find a time that works for me in your calendar?
    That's ok, just reach out. I will let you know if there are other options, I will do my best to find a time for you that works for both of us.
  • Is there a Wait List?
    Quite often I have a wait list for the VIP and Individual Coaching, BUT YAY!!! I am currently accepting clients! If I have a wait list I suggest that you consider one or both of the Self-Study Programs Part One: Nutrition- What When and How to Eat for Sustainable Weight Loss and Part Two: Psychological Strategies- Lose Weight and Keep it Off
  • How do I pay for my sessions?
    For anyone outside of Ontario and anywhere in the world all of your sessions can be paid for through my stanstore https://stan.store/awoodcoaching . For Ontario Residents the process is a little different if you are using your extended health care plan so please get in touch so we can discuss.
  • What if I have to cancel a session?
    I request 24 hrs notice to cancel any booked appointments so the spot can be offered out to someone else. With 24 hrs notice we can reschedule our meeting for another time. With insufficient notice I will not be able to reschedule your appointment so unfortunately it will be missed and you will be charged for the time. So make sure to let me know in advance, I would hate for you to miss out!
  • What payment options do you offer?
    Unless you live in Canada credit card is your only option and you will be billed at the end of the session. Canadians can pay through e-transfer. The Courses can be purchased through my Stanstore https://stan.store/awoodcoaching or through my AWoodCoaching App (available on Apple and Google Play Store)
  • Do you ever offer other types of coaching than weight loss?
    Yes, my model is applicable to many life goals, reach out to me to discuss what you have in mind and I'll let you know if I'm the right fit, if not I may suggest a referral.
  • I noticed you are a registered Social Worker, are you able to offer your services through extended health plans?
    I am only registered in the province of Ontario as a Social Worker. So if you live in Ontario reach out to me so we can discuss how you may be able to use your extended health benefits to cover some of the cost of your sessions. This only applies to individual sessions, not the Self-Study Courses. Anyone outside of Ontario will not be able to use their extended health benefits to pay for the One-on-One sessions.
  • I live in Ontario, would I be able to see you for therapy instead of coaching?
    I am currently not accepting new therapy clients. Some clients that think they need therapy are actually more suited to coaching and vise versa. Contact me directly so we can decide what approach is best for you.
